In With the New

It's almost time to say goodbye to the old, and hello to the new. I'm a sucker for the sentiments of the New Year, always ready to start with a clean slate. This past year has been so incredible, I've been so blessed! I've travelled to more new places than ever before, finally making it over to Southeast Asia for the first time, got my ass handed to me (in a good way) on One Love Yoga's retreat, ventured around the States with girlfriends, swooned in a total trance at the phenomenon that is Coachella, spent time on both coasts over the summer, worked on quality relationships new and old, lost and re-found love, and am on my way to heading in a new career direction this upcoming year. I am so excited for what's to come! Thank you for being a part of it.

I hope it doesn't come across as too conceited to say, I love these photos. My photographer Courtney deserves an extra special thank you for somehow having a magic touch. Somehow she conveys exactly what I want the photos to make you feel, and in this case, one of hope and longing for what's to come. So thank you Courtney, you're so incredibly talented. xx

Wild Child

Being a cold-weather blogger where it's pretty much winter 6 months of the year is always a struggle. You basically have to choose between nearly freezing to death to get a few good outfit shots, or wearing one of your two winter parkas. NOT inspirational.

So this year I've been on a bit of a jacket binge. I found a few awesome non-black options for super reasonable prices. Also can I say how excited I am that leopard print is back in style this year?

Novella Royale

LAST CALI POST, I promise. On the eve of another brutal snowstorm headed our way, I'm clinging on to every memory of that California sun. A friend recommended we visit 1000 Steps Beach, close to Laguna down the coast. I think we drove past it about 4 times before finally giving up and walking to find it - it's not marked or advertised at all, which makes it very private. And while the hike back up was tough (though only around 230 steps total), the view was SO worth it.

I picked this two piece set up from Free People in Manhattan Beach. I'm obsessed with the print and colours! Anything by Novella Royale, basically. Already lusting for the days I can wear it again!

Wildest Dreams

"Say you'll remember me,
Standing in a nice dress,
Staring at the sunset babe"

Guys guess what - today is Boho Nouveau's 1 year birthday

I launched this blog last December with no idea where it would lead, and within just a short year it's brought me so many amazing opportunities I'm incredibly thankful for. And thank you so much as readers for following along. I love reading your comments and being able to share with you my experiences. Thank you thank you thank you!

These photos were snapped on my last night in California a few weekends back. We drove down the coast to Laguna, and on the way back we stopped at Crystal Cove State Park just in time for the most beautiful sunset. BREATH TAKEN. I really cannot wait to come back and explore the rest of this state park during the daylight hours. I received this incredible tunic/dress from Citizen Grace by For Love and Lemons. While it's SUPER short (I mean, super short) I'm in love with its airy, beachy-boho vibe.

Again, thank you so much for reading and following along. I hope you enjoy - stay tuned for a 1 year blog-aversary giveaway coming soon! xo

Precioso Dress in Blue Floral (find similar HERE)

A few weekends ago, I was lucky enough to fly out to sunny Southern California for a few days in and around the Los Angeles area. I can honestly say I am green with envy for everyone who gets to call California home - there is just SO. MUCH. BEAUTIFUL. From the scenery to the drives, the people to the houses, Cali's got me swooning with my head in the clouds. I am a sunset girl (mainly because the very rare instances I wake up early enough to catch the sunrise I am in zombie mode) and I mean, the sunsets on the west coast are incomparable.

We drove up the PCH to Malibu for the late afternoon and evening and found a practically deserted Zuma Beach. Can I just say, best looking surfer babes ever are here! Seriously fulfilling my tween O.C.-obsessed dreams! Here's me channeling my best Marissa Cooper in a new favourite beach maxi.

This maxi by Honey Punch is beach-perfect. The material is silk-like without being delicate, and the single leg slit adds some sexy. I cinched the waist with this SCF x Luv AJ belt I'm currently obsessed with. Shop the rest of the outfit below, and stay tuned for more from my mini California escape!
